Let me set the scene...
Widnes have struggled for consistency this season and went in to Sunday's Northern Rail Cup semi final against Halifax as underdogs. Halifax are top of the Championship having lost just one game all season, and defeated Widnes earlier in the year both in the league and in the Challenge Cup.
Widnes had gone up 20-6 in the early stages of the second half, but thanks to a bit of good fortune, Halifax got back in to the game, and edged ahead 22-20.
And as Widnes battled to get back in the game, scrum half James Webster tried to force the play, and the loose ball was gathered by Halifax scrum half Ben Black who raced away for a certain try...
Widnes went on to turn things round, first levelling it up 22-22 and then edging ahead with a drop goal. Anthony Thackeray's hat trick try all but sealed the game at 27-22. Just a shame those three tries aren't on YouTube :)
